Challenges to exploit Big Maritime Data

Workshop Chair: Prof. G. Vouros

Τhis workshop aims to present challenges towards exploiting big maritime data: Maritime data are produced either on board or come from different off board sources and can be streaming or archival data. They are thus true heterogeneous and big data, in terms of volume, velocity, veracity, variety and potential value. Combining and integrating them towards producing actionable insights remains an untapped opportunity. During the workshop, results from European projects concerning maritime data will be presented, as well as specific services and plans for enhancements of such services by maritime stakeholders.
