Presentation Title: Reducing injuries from falls among older people – ProFouND Training in evidence based falls prevention exercise


Abstract

TEI of Sterea Ellada and NCSR “Demokritos” are members of the ProFouND network:
Prevention of Falls Network for Dissemination for the elderly, – a European Commission funded project- aiming to provide the best falls prevention advice to help prevent falls among elderly people across Europe.
Last year at T.E.I. of Sterea Ellada 11 instructors-physiotherapists from Greece and Cyprus were trained at Lamia by LLT –ProFouND trainers. In turn, since then another 31 Greek physiotherapists have been trained at TEI Stereas and by a pre-training e-learning platform (now available in Greek) so as to deliver Otago exercises within their settings widening referral on options and aiming to cover the need of older people across Greece on effective evidence based fall prevention exercise.
