Short Bio

Dr. Steryios Naris holds a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (1998) and he obtained his PhD from University of Thessaly (2005) in the field of transport phenomena in nanodevices. In 2006 he joined Hellenic Institute for Occupational Health and Safety (ELINYAE) and he is serving as head of the branch of Thessaly. He has collaborated with hundreds of companies in central Greece on occupational health & safety issues, including risk assessment and monitoring of hazardous factors at workplaces. He has also collaborated as a researcher and visiting professor with University of Thessaly and Technological Institute of Thessaly.

He has participated in many research projects and his work is focused on occupational health & safety, non-equilibrium transport phenomena with applications in micro- and nano- electro-mechanical systems (MEMS and NEMS), porous media, microsensors and vacuum systems. His interests also include metrology and fusion technology. He is author or co-author of more than 25 scientific publications in peer-reviewed international journals and 60 articles in international conference proceedings.
