Short Bio

Anna Palaiologk (F) is a Senior Research Consultant at EXODUS S.A. where she manages and coordinates EU projects. Anna holds a BSc in Economics (University of Macedonia, Greece) and a MSc in Spatial, Transport and Environmental Economics (Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, the Netherlands). She works in the IT research scene since 2008, currently involved in the areas of Big Data analytics in Healthcare and SME innovation. Previously Anna worked for the High Performance Computing Centre of Stuttgart (HLRS) in Germany, where she represented the interests of the Automobile industry of the BW region in large IT infrastructure projects. Anna has also worked for ISOIN in Spain as a Business Development Manager, and for Ecorys in the Netherlands as a Policy Analyst for various DGs, the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank and other donors. Before that, she worked for the Dutch Data Archiving and Networked Services (DANS) Institute and Charles Beagrie Ltd, specializing in cost-benefit analysis of data preservation and management. Her current research interests focus on developments in Big Data analytics and Artificial Intelligence applications.


Presentation Title: Demonstrating the BIOLYTICA platform, a product of the AEGLE H2020 project

Abstract:

The BIOLYTICA platform, which is the product of the AEGLE H2020 project, offers a scalable solution for analysing big healthcare data, which includes the ability for users to pseudo-anonymize data conforming to EU regulations and the security measures, ensuring data analysis and storage on a secure cloud platform accessible only to users with the necessary access requirements. The platform can be offered with two user interfaces (UI). A research-oriented UI (R&D-UI) and a clinical decision support UI (CDS-UI). Both can be customized to the user’s needs. The platform has been developed for three scenarios, namely analysing next generation sequencing (NGS) and immunogenetics data, analysing monitoring data for Intensive Care Units (ICU) and analysing electronic health records (EHR) data for non-malignant chronic diseases such as diabetes, but has the potential of supporting any other Healthcare domain.
