Short Bio

Dr. Andreas SAPALIDIS studied Petroleum Engineering in the Tecnological Institute of Kavala, Greece (graduation year 2002). In 2004 he obtained his Master of Science from Department of chemistry, National and Kapodestrian University of Athens and on 2009 a PhD from the same Department with Thesis entitled “Preparation and characterization of polymeric nanocomposites materials”. He is a member of Membranes and Microporous Materials for Environmental Separations Laboratory (MESL) since 2001 with his research interests being novel preparation and characterization techniques of nanostructured materials. He has extensive experience on the following characterization techniques: Atomic force microscopy, SEM, TEM, permeability methods, mechanical properties, Thermogravimetric analysis, Differential Scanning Calorimetry, Nitrogen and Mercury porosimetry, Absorption methods. He is the co-author of 14 research papers and 1 book chapter and participated in 12 EU and national funded projects while he is a scientific coordination of a national project involving CO2 capture.
