Short Bio

Dr. Nomikos is Assistant Professor of Biochemistry at the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics of Harokopio University. He investigates the association between nutrition and cardiovascular diseases, focusing on platelet actions, metabolism of platelet-activating factor, biochemistry of exercise-induced muscle damage and the estimation of the antioxidant, antiatherogenic and antithrombotic properties of dietary patterns, food items and phytochemicals. His research was funded by National and European research programmes and by the private sector. Dr. Nomikos is the author of more than 70 peer review articles and over 150 presentations in national and international conferences. He is also the co-author of 4 book chapters. He is a member of the editorial board of 4 International and 1 Greek journals (section editor in Hellenic Journal of Atherosclerosis). Dr.Nomikos is Departmental Coordinator of the Erasmus+ and member of the deanery of the School of Health Sciences and Education of Harokopio University.
