Presentation Title: MIFIS structural calculations and deployment procedures, , Patras Engineering School

Abstract

During MIFIS Conceptual study, different parameters that affect the system’s design such as, depth, pressure, temperature, deployment procedures, necessary offshore equipment, hydrate formation, the weather conditions etc. were evaluated. The majority of the DIFIS system components were used (Buffer Bell, Riser Tube, Stiffening Rings, Dome, mooring lines) for the MIFIS Concept. In addition a new and innovative structure: the Press-Gravitational Buffer Bell Separator was introduced in order to succeed an efficient three phase separation. A parametric, multidisplinary method was launched for the structural integrity. The Conceptual configuration of the MIFIS concept with further design guidelines were proposed after the Principal Investigation.
