Prof. Vassilis Gorgoulis Vassilis Gorgoulis is a Professor and Head of the Department of Histology–Embryology in the Faculty of Medicine of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA). He is also a Collaborating Professor in the Biomedical Research Foundation of the Academy of Athens, as well as Honorary Professor at the Institute for Cancer Sciences and at the Manchester Centre for Cellular Metabolism of The University of Manchester. He has graduated and obtained his PhD from the Faculty of Medicine of NKUA. As a medical doctor he was trained and specialized in Pathology. He has 200 international publications, which received more than 10000 citations. He is an active member in many Greek and international scientific organization, including the European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO).
