Abstract

“In the last decades, cultural heritage has been extensively documented. Waygoo is a system that allows to combine numerous and heterogeneous data. It can be applied to the fields of security; travel; transportation, building management and retail; event presentation and scheduling as well as in the fields of culture and tourism. It enables all cultural heritage institutions and organizations to document through computerized techniques their assets in order to handle and preserve the information produced and in order to promote it to the public. The concept of managing cultural heritage and its identification includes a multitude of tangible as well as intangible components and highlights the significance of each of them. Some of the main tools of the platform enable the user to implement assets; digitize and enrich content through a fully functional management system characterized by stability and seamless procedures. The platform gives the opportunity to create various applications that can show georeferenced content and assets; categorize content based on location; era of creation and field of expertise; provide data and information for the assets included; visualize space and create all-purpose routes inside building infrastructures.
Waygoo platform aims at an innovative breakthrough in combining the technologies with primary concern to be an independent and sustainable platform that will perform without restrictions and will provide the highest level of services that meets the expectations of the users and managers. The procedure concerns cultural assets management that leads toward an enhanced touristic model. The platform facilitates mapping in order to analyze patterns and to quantify artefacts. It provides a well-structured descriptive and analytical tool for identifying spatial patterns and performs multileveled navigation and guidance. It offers useful tools into providing control in order to visualize temporal data and contributes to in the development of Tourism and Culture.
