Christina Karafylli was born in Athens. She received her Diploma as Architect Engineer with distinction and grade 9,00/10 from the School of Architecture of the National Technical University Athens, in 2012. Since then, she is a registered architect engineer in the Technical Chamber of Greece and works as a freelance architect. She has extended knowledge on design and architectural drawing software. In her research and projects, she has received distinctions and scholarships. She shows interest in issues of public space and environmental architecture. Her interests lie in the area of spatial analysis, art and technology. She is currently working as an Associate Researcher at the Integrated Systems Laboratory of Informatics and Telecommunications in NCSR – Demokritos.
“In the last decades, cultural heritage has been extensively documented. Waygoo is a system that allows to combine numerous and heterogeneous data. It can be applied to the fields of security; travel; transportation, building management and retail; event presentation and scheduling as well as in the fields of culture and tourism. The platform gives the opportunity to create various applications that can show georeferenced content and assets; categorize content based on location; era of creation and field of expertise; provide data and information for the assets included; visualize space and create all-purpose routes inside building infrastructures.
Waygoo platform aims at an innovative breakthrough in combining the technologies with primary concern to be an independent and sustainable platform that will perform without restrictions and will provide the highest level of services that meets the expectations of the users and managers. The procedure concerns cultural assets management that leads toward an enhanced touristic model. The platform facilitates mapping in order to analyze patterns and to quantify artefacts. It provides a well-structured descriptive and analytical tool for identifying spatial patterns and performs multileveled navigation and guidance. It offers useful tools into providing control in order to visualize temporal data and contributes to in the development of Tourism and Culture.
