Short Bio

Marilena Kouvidi is an architect - engineer (member of TEE and RIBA) and Digital Media artist. She is a graduate of the School of Architecture Universitá degli studi, Federico II, Naples, Italy. . (Distinction). She obtained a Master of Architecture in MA Architecture and Digital Media, at the University of Westminster, London, UK (Distinction). She has participated in seminars with 3D projection Mapping groups Telenoika, (Spain), AntiVj-Joannie Lemercier (France), Playmodes (Spain), Roberto Fazio (Italy), XA Atelier (Athens) - Advanced Architectural Workshop. She has worked as an Architect - Art director of the architectural office "Munkenberg + Marshall" in London and has worked with architectural firms in Athens and Italy in luxury residential projects, commercial, office space and restoration of neoclassical buildings. She works as a freelance Architect in Athens, interested in the relationship between art and technology and the relationship between sound and image. She has developed multifaceted artistic activity in the field of interactive installations, new media, performances and video art. She is currently working in the Laboratory of Integrated Systems NCSR "Demokritos” as a Research Associate in the field of virtual reality and 3d animation production and teaches seminars on digital arts technology with specialization in 3D projection mapping in Soundtectonics space.
