Konstantinos Fostiropoulos studied physics at the University of Heidelberg. 1992 he did a doctorate in experimental astrophysics under the supervision of Hugo Fechtig at the Max Planck Institute for Nuclear Physics. 1990 he prepared for the first time macroscopic quantities of C60 – a new form of carbon. In 2001 he returned to fullerene research when he entered the Hahn-Meitner Institute Berlin. There he has been in charge of the Organic Photovoltaic research. Since 2003 he heads the “Organic Solar Cells Group”. He participated in national projects and represents German research and industry partners in the EU Coordination Action: OrgaPVnet. He established and coordinates since 2008 the national joined research project “SOHyb”.
