Prof. Levent Cavas Dr. Levent CAVAS is currently a Professor at the Department of Chemistry of Dokuz Eylül University. He obtained his PhD from the Dokuz Eylül University in 2005 and then he continued his studies and research at the same university. Dr Cavas scientific interests lie in the areas of biochemistry and biotechnology: invasive Caulerpa species in the Mediterranean Sea, isolation of bioactive agents from marine organisms, antioxidant molecules, biofouling, antifouling paints and biocides, bioinformatics. He has over than 50 published papers in the SCI journals. He has fostered research collaborations with European universities. He is currently the Scientist in charge for DEU in the FP7 supported Project “High-throughput development of carbon-polymer nanocomposites for marine applications” in Dokuz Eylül University. He is married and has a five years old daughter.
