Constantinos Anagnostopoulos M.D, Ph.D, FRCP, FRCR, FESC is a Nuclear Medicine Physician, Research Director at the Center for Experimental Surgery, Clinical and Translational Research of the BRFAA. He has previously held posts as Head of Nuclear Medicine-PET/CT Department and Senior Lecturer at the Barts & The London School of Medicine and Consultant in Nuclear Medicine/Nuclear Cardiology at the Royal Brompton hospital, London, UK. In his capacity as President of the British Society of Nuclear Cardiology, Council member both of the British Cardiovascular Society and British Nuclear Medicine Society and also of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) working group in Nuclear Cardiology and Cardiac CT, as well as Chair and member of Guideline Committees in the UK and the ESC, he has fostered strong collaboration links with a number of European centres. This international collaboration has been further enhanced by participation as a partner in a number of EU funded programs through which he advances his research interests on atherosclerosis and its consequences to the vessel wall and the myocardium. His accomplishments include extensively cited pioneering work on absolute quantification of myocardial perfusion, pharmacological manipulation of myocardial perfusion during adenosine stress test, and assessment of left ventricular function and viability by nuclear techniques and MRI. He is book editor and author or co-author of many book chapters related to Cardiovascular Radionuclide Imaging. He has been Guest Editor of the HEART and he is member of editorial board of leading specialty journals.
